Some great news from Korogocho
Be Kids Australia scholar Idris Muktar, has been accepted into the Master Card Foundation scholarship and will be joining the University of California, Berkeley for post graduate studies. This is a full scholarship that takes care of tuition, books and accommodation while at Berkeley for the two-year program of Masters in Journalism- Multimedia and narrative writing.
Idris was scheduled to leave for California on 19th August 2020. However, due to Covid-19’s uncertainty, this has been pushed ahead and its likely he will have to take his first semester remotely in Nairobi. This is a dream come true for Idris grateful for the opportunity and the platform that he has had over the last three years since his graduation from USIU in 2017 with a full Be Kids Australia Scholarship.
